Membership Committee |
The role of the membership committee is to maintain communication between the Chicago BTA and its current and prospective members. Although the responsibilities are multifaceted, the primary goals are as follows:

Marketing Communications Committee |
The mission of this committee is to communicate the opportunities, programs and achievements of the Chicago BTA to the membership and travel community. The committee strives to maintain visibility and to encourage growth of the chapter through local and national involvement. Mar/Com Committee supports three areas: Publication of the quarterly Chicago BTA Newsletter provides a communication vehicle for:

Volunteer Committee |
This committee is for individuals joining CBTA who wish to assist other committees with various needs. New or existing members of CBTA often times are not sure which committee they would like to serve on so the Volunteer Committee was developed for such individuals to take an active part in CBTA until such time they determine which committee they would join.

Community Outreach Committee |
CBTA’s New Committee-Community Outreach We are excited to announce a new sector at CBTA, the Community Outreach Committee! The goal and purpose of the Community Outreach is to provide fun and engaging events for our members while positively impacting our community at large on a variety of charitable outlets in the Chicagoland area throughout the year. Please reach out to our committee chairs listed below if you are interested in joining the committee and/or if you have any recommendations of charitable events you would like to see CBTA participate in. We are looking forward to a great 2018 and making an impact on our community! |
Historian |
The mission of the Historian Committee is to preserve and protect the history of Chicago BTA. To accomplish this, the committee will identify and collect data to include newsletters, membership directories, board meeting minutes, financial reports, brochures and other relevant documents. |
Education & Programs |
In an ever changing and evolving travel industry, the ChicagoBTA Education Committee is committed to bringing its members relevant and timely educational and networking opportunities throughout the year. The Committee’s goal is achieve the overall organizations’ mission of delivering resources and professional development to our members. Our committee is comprised of well seasoned travel experts that are devoted to ensuring this mission is professionally met while having a little fun. Our committee is motivated by the tag line “Getting Our Learning On” Annual Opportunities include:

Allied Council |
This group includes one representative from the airline, hotel, ground transportation company, travel management company sector and travel/technology sector. The purpose of the Allied Counsel is to provide the Board of Directors with a supplier perspective and consult on educational opportunities for each of their specialties. This counsel also assists greatly with logistical assistance for key speakers that participate in the chapter meetings. Representatives are elected each year. Please contact the Chapter President if you are interested in running. |
Government Relations |
The purpose of government relations committee is to be the voice of CBTA at all levels of government including city, state, and national. Government relations is a bipartisan committee that strives to obtain political support for legislation that supports business travel. Additional duties of this committee includes: Identifying qualified government speakers

Ad-Hoc Committees |
Special and sub-committees shall be appointed by the President to fill a special purpose and shall be discharged upon submission of a final report. |

Golf & Croquet Event Committee |
Our mission is to plan, promote and host the annual Golf and Croquet Event to raise funds for DePaul University School of Hospitality student scholarships. A secondary objective is to provide a DePaul University student intern the opportunity to lead the charge for this event under the tutelage of CBTA member professionals. In addition to raising funds for the future travel leaders, this event provides a healthy, fun activity for CBTA members, DePaul University faculty and guests to network and promote their corporate brand to the community. |
