The
Chicago BTA has partnered with The Walter and Connie Payton
Foundation.
The Walter & Connie Payton Foundation (WCPF) is
about helping abused, neglected & underprivileged children in
the state of Illinois. The organization strives to help boost
these children’s self-esteem and give them a reason to believe
that tomorrow can be different.....That tomorrow can be better!
“Children have always brought a tremendous amount of joy
to me and I feel that if you can catch them at a young age you
can really change a life. There are a lot of studies that show
that one act of kindness to these children has a 40% chance of
making that child have a completely different outcome in their
life. What you hope is that you can get a kid to believe in
something and to believe in themselves.”
-Walter Payton
Holiday Giving Program The foundation is committed
to giving new gifts to as many in-need children as they can each
December for the Holiday Season. They work closely with the
Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to ensure that
the neediest children in the state of Illinois receive these
gifts. Each year WCPF provides for approximately 20,000
children. These children were in great need and would not have
received any gifts without the foundations help and the
donations of the generous community around them. Chicago BTA is
proud to be a partner of the WCPF for their Holiday Giving
Program.
