ECPAT USA News

Dear Supporter,

You may have seen the news. A former Subway sandwich spokesperson is pleading guilty to buying sex with minors. He searched the internet for "underage escorts" and met them at upscale hotels like the Plaza and the Ritz Carlton. These are not "underage escorts"; under US federal law these children are victims of sex trafficking. Hotel employees need to know what to look for. This is why ECPAT-USA does the work that we do. We work with hotels because it is urgent.

When hotel employees react to a suspicion of a child being exploited they literally open a pathway to freedom. ECPAT-USA partners with hotels to enact The Tourism Child-Protection Code of Conduct, which requires hotels to train their employees on how to identify and report cases of trafficking, to ensure that victims like these are rescued and helped.

When you give to ECPAT-USA, you directly support a front desk staff clerk to learn the signs of abuse. You help a housekeeper know what to look for. You empower a hotel manager to train her staff to react. You also support us to pass laws that protect children and punish exploiters. You create an opportunity for freedom.

Your gift of $50, $100, $500, or more creates a world where children are protected. Together we can make sure that perpetrators do not go free, and no child is bought, sold, or used for sex. We can do this work because you give.

On behalf of the children we fight to protect, we thank you for standing up for freedom.
