Dear Chicago BTA Membership,
Last month concluded my tenure as President of the Chicago Business Travel Association. It has been my honor to serve as your President for the past four years.
While serving as President, I have seen tremendous growth in the association. This includes, but not limited to the high quality of our educational content at our meetings, membership growth, our increased financial donation to charity organizations, our annual golf and croquet event has been “sold out” the past four years, our community out-reach programs, member appreciation events, and many other activities Chicago BTA provides to our members.
However, the key component to the success of Chicago BTA is volunteerism. The association is fortunate to have numerous volunteers from the Board, Allied Council, Committee Chairs, Co-Chairs and Committee members who volunteer tirelessly, and endlessly, giving many hours of personal time to make Chicago BTA the premier Chapter.
Effective January 1, 2019, Chicago BTA will be an “official” Chapter of the Global Business Travel Association. Becoming a Chapter will bring numerous benefits to the Association and members. Read more about what actions you should take here.
In addition the New Year will bring a new Board, along with Allied Council and Committee Chairs/Co-Chairs. I am pleased that Ms. Bonnie Brabb will be the new Chicago BTA President. Bonnie has served as past Treasurer and 1st Vice President of Chicago BTA. Her vision and leadership, along with the Board, Allied Council, Committee Chairs and many volunteers will lead Chicago BTA to new heights. I will transition to Chairman of the Board, advising Bonnie, the Board, and other strategic tasks.
Lastly, a big thank you to Trish Rothman. Trish is the outgoing Chairman of the Board. She has been a role model and mentor for me and the Association during my Presidency.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of such a strong and dedicated association. I look forward to serving as Chairman and the continued success of Chicago BTA.
